Sampladelic’s first album release with us at Aviary Bridge Records, suitably named “Frankenstein’s Monster”, is an absolute sound collage of an album. Much like Frankenstein’s monster himself, the parts that make up Sampladelic’s album are chaotically thrown together, and yet the end result seamlessly makes for an eclectic and eccentric listen. This is an album which has the vibe of being an absolute joy to make. Freeing and experimental, yet masterfully put together.
“Frankenstein’s Monster” starts off rather conservatively compared with the rest of the album with the slow and soulful “01. H u r t”, a vocal track with minimal instrumentals which has the spotlight beaming firmly on the lyrics and the vocalist. From there, we enter the utterly abstract and bizarre track that is “02. Snozzberry” which sets a surreal tone for the rest of the album. Choppy samples intertwine with lo-fi beats to create a sound heavy experience, with each track emitting vastly different vibes to the next.
